contains everything your people will need to take part in your 40 Days of Purpose
Campaign.
1. SEVEN WEEKEND SERVICE PLANS INCLUDING SUGGESTED SERMONS
You'll be given seven worship service plans, which include the messages Rick Warren
preached on each purpose at Saddleback along with his research notes. You can use these
messages in any way you wish in your preparation to speak on each purpose. You will also
have access to view all of Saddleback's Campaign services on the Internet so you can see
how we designed each service to challenge our church.
2. WEEKLY SMALL GROUP LESSONS
These lessons are harmonized with the weekend messages and the daily readings. These
groups are vital because we grow best spiritually in community. Your own teachers can
teach these lessons, or like 90% of the churches
who have participated in 40 Days of Purpose, you can use the video lessons that
Rick Warren taught here at Saddleback and distribute them to your class or groups for
viewing.
Video teaching was the biggest breakthrough we discovered at Saddleback.
People who had never even participated in a Bible study group opened up their homes as
"hosts." We were able to recruit 2,400 small group hosts because we eliminated
the fear of having to be a Biblical scholar to lead a group. All these members had to do
was to put a videotape into their VCR, watch Rick Warren teach the lesson, and then lead a
simple discussion with the questions provided. As a result, hundreds of previously
uninvolved people are now saying, "Hey, I can do this! I can lead a class or small
group!"
The video curriculum is a secret weapon that will help you raise up new leaders that you
never knew were there. You can purchase professionally developed curriculum as part of the
participants pack or simply print your own
off of the Campaign Resource CD provided to you.
3. THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE BOOKS
The Purpose Driven Life is a personal devotional written in 40 chapters—one chapter for
each day of the Campaign. The devotional readings are the real heart of the Campaign —
getting people to think about God’s purposes for their lives on adaily basis for 40 days.
This book is the cornerstone of the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign, the basis upon which all
the other elements of the Campaign are built. To make the Campaign most effective, we
recommend you order enoughbooks so that every adult and teenager in your church can have a
copy.

4. SIX WEEKLY SCRIPTURE MEMORY VERSE TAGS
Scripture memory is a habit that most Christians have never even tried, but getting your
members to "hide God's word in their hearts" brings personal revival and renewal.
Each weekend you'll give them a weekly memory verse related to the purpose being studied
that week. A Memory Verse Key Ring is included in the
special participants pack or you can
purchase them individually from us, or just print up your own.
5. YOUTH AND CHILDREN'S MINISTRY CURRICULUM
The Campaign isn't just for adults! The purposes are applicable, regardless of age. For
youth, you will receive the messages that Doug Fields, Student Pastor at Saddleback,
taught during 40 Days of Purpose, plus all of our small group study guides. All of
these materials will be provided on the Resource CD. For children's ministry, you'll
receive several choices of curriculum, in-class activities and take-home
materials for preschool through sixth grade.
RESOURCE CD-ROM
You will receive a CD with over 200 different resources that you can customize to fit
your church's style and denominational distinctives. With the exception of the
Purpose Driven Life book and the Small Group Videos, this CD provides you with
all of the necessary Campaign materials and resources in Word, Excel and PDF formats.
SPECIAL PARTICIPANTS PACKS
The best way to provide the resources for each of your members is by purchasing the
special participants packs. Each pack contains 10 Purpose Driven Life Books, 10 Small
Group curriculum Workbooks, 10 Key Rings and one set of Small Group Curriculum on Video
